The Service Circle

It took me a long time and a great effort to become a true server.

I was too narrow-minded, and self-centered, for too long to even give a chance to this concept.

Now I cannot see myself doing anything else, and this works very well for me!

It started with the realization that serving means "taking action to bring value"* to yourself or someone else, and, in most cases to both, at the same time.

*Ron Kaufman's definition

And since we are all servers, with or without our intention, every single day, learning how to do it right makes a huge difference.

The harsh reality is that it's hard work being a good server, just like everything important in life, it's hard! It does not function with shortcuts, quick fixes, and magic recipes, it's hard work!

Serving Myself

This has usually been the last on my priority list, and I had to put in the biggest effort to move it up - investing in my personal and career growth, health, and well-being, ensuring that I am in the best mental, professional, and physical shape to serve others.

Serving my Family

Given or acquired friends and family, this is my primary support system. Serving them ensures a stable and supportive personal environment, which can significantly impact everything else I choose to do. Now I purposefully focus on quality time, real presence, and unconditional support.

Serving my Team, Company, or Business

For me, this means: bringing the beautiful words from the company's slogan to life by turning values into actions, being part of the culture, making work fun and efficient for you and others, and treating your colleagues as if they were your clients, with clarity, assertivity, and collaboration.

Understanding that there is more to it than the everyday tasks, there is a meaning, a purpose, a mission.

Serving my Client

Shifting from transactional interactions to meaningful connections. Learning to see and understand needs, wishes, changes, and emotions and lead with that in my service.

Serving my Community

...with every single action I take, personally and professionally. Don't wait for your company to organize that volunteering event to meet the CSR KPIs, take it personally and do it even when no one is watching.

Being a circle, the effects of my daily service impact me deeply and directly.

Take any analogy that helps: you get what you give, what goes around comes around, you are what you eat, energy flows where attention goes, be he change, karma, and so on.

How is your daily service going for you?
